The German program is a new addition to the specialist program, beginning
in 2011 focused at the year 5 and 6 students. Due to it's great success, the
program has be expanded to span from year 1 to year 6. The program runs for
12 months and consists of one 45 minute session per week.
The German program aims to give students an understanding of the mechanics
of the german language. The program focuses on building vocabulary knowledge
and understanding basic grammatical differences from the English language.
Learning a second language has many benefits for students. These include
personal, cognitive, academic and societal benefits.
